Parents and children are a dynamic family unity. They all
live together, interact with each other, share thoughts & feelings,
and influence the behavior & responses of the other family members.
Each person is separate yet each is part of the total unit. The family
unit can be discordant and troubled; it can be harmonious &
peaceful; it can be functioning well or it can be very dysfunctional
with many unhappy members. Parents often bring a child into our office
so that we will "fix" their child. Since the child is part of
the family we often have to improve the relationships within the family
unit. Although they are doing their best, parents often cannot see the
causes of the family problem. That's because many of the causes are old
feelings, thoughts, fears, attitudes, doubts and perceptions within the
subconscious mind of the various family members. These deeply hidden
elements or characteristics of the personality may be found in Mom, Dad,
or in the kids.
Therefore, whenever we see a young person for self-improvement or therapy,
we teach self-healing win inner awarenss to the adults as well.
In fact, it is our policy to do therapy with a child only if the parents
in the household agree to do complete self-healing as well. The progress
of each person is monitored as the doctor goes through the healing
sessions with the child. So Self-healing will be used with both
parents and children to re-establish successful relationships &
restore normal family function & harmony. Parents may also need to
learn some newer & more effective parenting skills. They are also
taught how to prevent & eliminate both personal & family stress
and improve parent-child interaction skills.
Besides dealing with
family discord, self-healing is used to help children &
teens understand the difficulties occurring in their lives, how to cope
with stress, build self-esteem, evaluate peer pressures, and to learn to
manage their complex development. You can use self-healing
to calm your household, eliminate parent-child conflicts & tension;
prevent stress-related physical upsets & illness, behavior problems,
insecurity, anger control, nail biting, hair pulling, self-mutilation,
unreasonable defiance, self-confidence, relationships, bed wetting,
frightening dreams, excessive worry, & fears.
