Self-healing in inner awareness & deep relaxation is often used so that individuals can improve their personal skills and abilities. These personal improvements include just about any conceivable mental, physical, creative, emotional, or psychologic characteristic. The purpose is to enhance a person's performance in any area of accomplishment. For example, one person may use deep relaxation to develop physical coordination & become a better tennis player. Another may desire to improve her mental & perceptive skills to be a more accomplished salesperson at her job. Someone else may desire to break an old habit and replace it with a more desirable one; perhaps give up overeating & replace it with an exercise program. A journalism teacher may want to use deep relaxation to make her classes more effective by increasing her creativity and mental alacrity. So deep relaxation accesses the inner resources of your mind, giving you the advantages to succeed & win at your game- whatever that game happens to be. Self-Improvement & performance enhancement requires two transformations in your life. First you must enhance the abilities you already have and activate dormant abilities. Second you must eliminate any mental or psychological impediments to achieving maximum performance. Sometimes we are not performing as well as we desire because we have never worked hard or long enough to develop our talents. Self-healing in inner awareness will help you improve by increasing your motivation to succeed, by developing greater mental & physical coordination, & by giving you new insights & perceptions, and strengthening your will power. So self-healing helps you develop new outlooks, abilities, skills, & talents. You will develop greater focus, your concentration will improve, you will seek to achieve greater proficiency, and your mind will be open to change and breakthrough achievements. In these ways, self-healing & deep relaxation helps you achieve & perform at a level far above your present capabilities & expectations. Sometimes personal improvement does not occur because of psychological blockages, irrational fears, inaccurate youthful perceptions, self-doubts, a poor self-image, or a lowered self-esteem that exists in the mind at both the conscious & subconscious levels of thought. These barriers to self-improvement often develop when we are young. Fears, doubts, & lowered self-confidence are embedded in the subconscious mind of the young child or teenager by life's circumstances, or the words of our peers, or thoughtless adults. Self-healing in inner awareness is used to locate and then correct any of those psychological or emotional impediments to maximal performance. Self-healing dissolves away any doubts, fears, and negativity which brings about greater self-confidence & elevated self-esteem. With these psychological barriers alleviated you will excel at life's challenges, in social situations, at your job, while playing sports, and while learning in school. The next step in self-transformation is deep relaxation. You are taught to use your mind to create a state of deep relaxation. You are able to give yourself helpful suggestions that will enhance any area of your life. These suggestions become embedded in your subconscious mind and then motivate you to transform both your inner & outer self. You are able to use deep relaxation on a continual basis for self-improvement as well as for deep understanding of the meaning of your life experiences. (Note: Deep relaxation is never used as a replacement for needed therapy.) Without mentioning any names, it is well known in training circles that one of today's most outstanding younger golfers uses deep relaxation & visual imagery routinely to improve his game.
